If you use the beta grid all changes are beta grid only/temporarily
and will not effect the main grid. Also uploading any animations will
not cost you anything (but will only exist on the beta grid, you must
pay to upload to main grid).
If you really don't want to involve the Linden grid at all, run it in
your own personal opensim server locally on your machine.
