It is more then just about appeasement, as you seem to implicitly
acknowledge the appeasement to the masses that feel there is something
of value that needs to be protected.
Another way to approach the issue, do we protect content and not
Lindens? Lindens have no value (stated by TOS), just play money, so why
bother to protect the amount, or currency, of lindens? However, those
contents that are supposedly being protected by appeasement is being
traded by something of no value. *scratches head*
