Rob,
In early 2008 you should look at coming to Linux.conf.au which is in
Melbourne, Australia.

At Linux.conf.au this year I ported the SecondLife viewer to Linux/PowerPC(
http://i386.kruel.org/blog/?p=232) (and other non-x86 platforms) and showed
it off to people - including talking about SecondLife at the gaming
miniconf.
