He was joking about how ridiculous all these proposals were, considering
this is a complete non-issue.  Read the bottom part more carefully.

These would be most useful on HUDs... More useful on HUDs than anything
else.  As someone who has designed a XyText based scrolling text display
HUD, I would have killed for something like dynamic textures on a HUD.

Big XyText displays cause a lot of simulator load too.  Attaching my HUD
takes the TD down to 0.50 for a few seconds.  This feature would reduce
a lot of lag.

An on/off switch is all the protection for privacy that we need.
