I think the key to the user interface is to have a beginner,
intermediate, and advanced mode. The ability to switch to
intermediate from beginner should be easy to locate in the beginner
mode.
The beginner mode should be very very simple, probably about 35% of
what we currently see available.
Who has friends, people to IM to, reason to build, etc in beginner
mode? SL can be very overwhelming and people should only be
overwhelmed when they want to - and then they can switch to a more
advanced mode. The only button that I think really should be at the
bottom and which isn't is ... customize your avatar!
The number one thing all new players want to do yet oddly isn't listed there.
Anyways, good to hear a professional is on the job.
