Isn't all of this covered enough over here? -->

I've read and signed a contributor agreement and I think what's in
there basically covers understandable needs of LL. If anyone has a
piece of code that can change SL really significantly I would be
surprised if LL wouldn't be interested in seeking other means to come
to an agreement.
And when it comes to money. People donate thousands of lines of code
to projects which in the end will earn tons of money to others. If you
donate to Linux you can improve the overall product and as such anyone
using the product may end up making more money.
As an example: Personally I once needed a very fast http server and
decided to opt for TUX (linux kernel httpd). Unfortunately TUX
happened to be very basic HTTP/1.0 and hence had no support for
caching at browser side. As a result I ended up coding support for
http 1.1 ETags. This in turn got another TUX user interested enough in
writing code for supporting last-modified tags. At that point in time
those 2 patches changed TUX significantly yet I'm sure neither I nor
the other user were ever concerned people may be making millions
thanks to us (e.g. by cutting bandwidth).
If you're not coding for the thrill of making something no Open Source
project is really good for you. In the end, if it is being used
someone will make money thanks to it. Personally I'm happy if somebody
somewhere can make a better living thanks to some of the changes I
made. Hell, I recently spend a lot of time on fixing particle stuff.
Now when LL rolls it into the viewer this will fix quite a few broken
products from creators in SL, should I now be unhappy they aren't
paying me even though this may help their in world business??
