Some people code for a living as well, and are trying to make ends meet.
Not everyone can afford to hammer away at something for the thrill of it
- and there is also the question of whether I should give someone gas so
that they can fill up their taxi. I've seen my share of projects that
gave me a thrill. That thrill, however, must be self-sustaining for
myself. When I'm 60 years old, I don't want to point at other people and
say, "I helped them buy that house and car out of the goodness of my
heart" as I sit in a retirement home.

I'm all for happy-clappy-open-source projects. I'm involved in more than
one. But each project allows me equal opportunity to turn sweat equity
into real equity. It may strike some as mercenary - thats fine. No one
is sending me food for my refrigerator. :-) So what I'm looking for is a
business model I can use. I think that is something fair to ask. If you
believe it is unfair, I apologize for disturbing you.

Incidentally, the unofficial licensing FAQ has one problem. It is
unofficial.

I'd like something official, please. And thank you.
