In the tech world, it just means not permanent.  It the same effect as 
to build castles on the beach only to have water come ashore and wash it 
all out to the sea.

Over 800 downloads... and no advertisements of it besides a few posts to 
this list and a thread on the forums.

I've had many requests to update or expand the Sandbox viewer from 
individuals and companies. Yes, they take it very serious and mainly for 
special implementations and not just for bug fixes.

"Sandbox" is a name from a consensus by the community brought to this 
mail-list a few months ago.

It is a place to collaborate. Parts of it over time may become more 
permanent.
