I understand that aspect - what I can't understand is *how* this would help LL in its anti-fraud activities. I *can* understand why having a single backend directory of usernames and passwords (or password hashes) would be better than copying the usernames/passwords between different directories for forums, accounts, SL, support etc. would be beneficial, just not why the viewer should use the exact same webform to authenticate as the website.
That said there is a good counter argument that the forums should use a different username and password than the SL accounts (my own ISP has just moved from an integrated forum to a seperate one just so that a compomise in the forums software would not compromise the account with the ISP).
