So maybe you are talking Brep (boundary representation). The first step is a
bounded set of edges to create faces. bounded faces create "bodies". See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boundary_representation
the the edge defintion sticks to "analytics" all you really pass is a
math equation descripting the edges. LOD is determined by the client. -
