[sldev] AWG: Geometric Content Creation

I think it would be wise to do some graphics upgrading, but the way i see
it, no matter what is done its going to be outdated about the time its
completed.
Considering the range SL is targeting, it might be wise to do some sort of
graphics abstraction layer. Then run 2 different graphic systems, one could
be extreamly highend the other could be average or below.
Over a number of years, phase out the average (or well below average
hopefully) with the old high end, then get a new high end and repeat.
With something like that you could give private sim owners control over the
required graphics level.
They could get additional features of the highend system by disallowing the
lowend.
There could also be a 'shared' level, only allow features that fall back
good on the low end.
But of course creation and maintaining something like that would more then
likely be a lot of work.
