That's what I think.  The idea of protecting assets is  a really
interesting one when it meets the field of open source.

It's so deeply ingrained into SL (well, code is law) that people
don't even question it anymore.

But when writing Open Source and spending hours and weeks on code
that itself is GPL, MIT and whatnot, it sounds a bit odd to me
when in designing the content storage, the one of the major design
goals (or obstacles) is to allow people to make what they build
inside that project "closed source".

To me that's like creating an open image or sound or media
format and basing major design decisions on the question if it
will lend itself to DRM.
