[sldev] [VIEWER} Mac madness

I wonder how many people are using Macs to write patches? I've noticed
at least two issues that appear to be Mac-specific. The first is a minor
annoyance and I'm not proficient enough in using the xCode IDE to figure
out how to fix it. The "Development" target, designed to facilitate
debugging, causes runtime errors at the lanuch of the client, so I have
to use the "Deployment" target instead.
The second one is a killer, at least with the OpenSource version of
1.18.3.2. Using a pristine build with no modifications, I get severe
texture issues in at least one sculptie: a modable version of Qarl's ant
sculpty that was used to test the libsl sculptie-importing script. The
problem does NOT appear in the pre-built RC Mac client.
The problems appear in both the sulptie-maps (they look like random
garbage in some of the prims) and the textures that go on various prims
(instead of ant-grey, they're bright, mono-colors). Again, this happens
in the home-brew, but pristine build, but not the pre-built version.
I've done the usual stuff like clear cache, check for RAM and disk
hardware/format/etc errors. I've also rebuilt the entire client from
scratch. Same problem.
Mac G5 dual 2.0 system with 2.5 GB of RAM, running xCode IDE 2.4.1, no
special settings, deployment build.
I'll submit a jira with the screenshots of both the pre-built and
home-built versions. If any Mac developer wants a copy of the ant, I can
send it to them for testing. A windows PC person noticed SLIGHT errors
with the ant on their home-brew client vs the pre-built, bit nothing
like what I get on the Mac.
Just a heads up.
