[sldev] Getting list of popular locations

I'm just starting to get familiar with the SL source. My goal right
now is to get a list of popular locations(on the entire map, or as
many as I can get in a reasonable ammount of time). However, I'm
having trouble doing this. I see that in the worldmapviewer's case,
the viewer sends out a message(setting the global message variable)
for popular locations. How is this message result retrieved? Is there
a better way to do this?
