[sldev] Suggestion to improve moderation capabilities: auto-mute
banned avatars

I still don't think I'd be satisfied with that.
Scenario 1: Me and a friend are IMing each other while on a parcel. Some
admin decides to ban him for whatever reason, but not me. I'm not longer
able to IM him, or sort out just why he was banned, or even who banned him.
Scenario 2: I'm speaking with a customer over IM, while exploring various
areas of SL. I walk onto a parcel where that user had been banned. After
many minutes of frustration wondering why the conversation died and the user
is not replying, I have to leave the parcel again or manually unmute them to
continue the conversation.
Any notification could very well be missed, or flooded away by other
notifications. There are ways to work around these, such as not including
IMs in this server made mute list, however I don't believe that's a suitable
answer. I'm all for controlling my own experience, not arbitrary control of
my experience by someone else.
>Another idea: Extend muting avatars to muting their objects as well.
Maybe even make banned avatars' objects invisible if they're outside the
parcel.
This on the other hand, I'd fully support. If I mute someone, I don't want
to hear their objects either, probably.
Though I'd also like to know that someone has muted me. I've had occasions
where trying to help a customer who didn't receive their purchase, turns out
they had muted me for whatever reason before making the purchase, and now I
couldn't even figure out how to tell them this except through object IM.
It's muting is a tricky thing to handle.
