Most people are not deliberately dishonest about harge things. if they
comprehend emotionally hoow much work something took to create, they
tend to be less likely to steal it. If you make it harder for them to
steal, while still easy to use, their sense of morality tends to kick
in, once again if they casually try to steal a copy of something to pass
to their friends. Its a fine balance. 99% and $1.99 downloads from
iTunes dissuade most people from trying to crack iTunes protection, even
if it isn't perfect. $L100 LInden items also make it easier (either
practically or emotionally) to buy most things than to steal them, so
most people remain honest.

Its always been an honor system on the grid. Certificates will simply
extend that honor system to the grid itself.

Also, if it becomes known that a dishonest grid owner is stealing
EVERYTHING from visitors, including copies of their notes on the best
porn sites and transcripts of cyber-dates, users will have more
incentive to not visit those sims.
