[sldev] why can an avatar get stuck (unable to log back in and not
getting logged out)?

Hi,
since my avatar is currently stuck in-world I wonder how a login is
handled on the server side.
By stuck I mean the system keeps telling on logon that "The system is
logging you out right now. Your account will not be available until...".
The avatar is also clearly visible in-world and appears logged on to
friends until they send an IM at which point they are told the avatar is
offline and message will be stored. Right after, the online status
changes to offline in the viewer.
It happened right after a teleport, the world was starting to appear and
the client was still receiving updates and chat from people around it
but at one point the updates for the world seemed to have stopped (part
of it was already visible but some of the building structure was still
missing).
The weird thing is that chat and agent updates were still received but I
was unable to move or teleport out (trying a neighbour region it would
tell me: "Could not teleport. Problem encountered processing your
teleport request. You may need to log back in before you can teleport"
and trying to go somewhere else would show the teleport screen with
updating progress bar but at some point later it would simply drop back
to the client world view).
I actually did not try to log back on for about 5 hours.
I still have the viewer log from that session but I do not see anything
unusual.
Seems this is happening rarely as referenced in
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-604
Think there is nothing much to do on the client side but I find it
intriguing that a condition exists where the server keeps the avatar
logged in even though the network connection is no longer present.
Regards,
Carsten
