[sldev] What is the point of firstlook and giving feedback to LL

I *think* I've worked out the code changes needed to do precisely that, and have downloaded Harold Brown's scheme to test switching between the two.

My changes even compile but...

As usual, there is a delay between the binary drop of an RC and the source drops, so I'm having to work with the code in the repository which has missing files (as usual but I think I've worked around that - luckily the new joystick device code can be disabled with a undef), and doesn't include the libraries, so I'm stuck at the link step unless someone wants to point me at the libboost binaries for VS2005 (as I really do not want to have to compile those from scratch life is too short).

Sorry, Harold, for another gripe, but does LL really wonder why the open source effort is shrinking rather than growing (or jumping ship to work on non-LL Virtual World projects like OpenSim, OpenCroquet or Wonderland) when they put so many obstacles in the way?

Matthew
