The suggestion of deprecating user picks on the wiki page is actually  
at odds with most of what was expressed at the meeting. General  
consensus seemed to be that they should become more flexible in  
recognition of the fact they are being widely used for non- 
geographical purposes.

I would suggest that rather than just allowing a landmark on them  
they should be able to take a generalised attachment, be that a  
landmark, link to a friend, URL, notecard, or an object. That would  
allow store owners to distribute incentive freebies through the  
profile pick for their store for example, or give non-landowners a  
way to distribute freebies,
