Just as a reassurance, since I use a 64 bit (Kubuntu Feisty) system 
exclusively, I have always linked against the distro boost libs and the 
1.20 RC from SVN is actually the most stable version of the viewer I 
have used so far.

Of course this requires removing the compiler-related version numbers 
from the link library names (I use gcc 4.1.2).
