If you have a business you get notecards and the like pretty  
regularly. I'd rather they just get stored with a message to email  
until you "go online".

On the other hand I think there's privacy issues with allowing people  
to be online without showing up on the map. People wouldn't know who  
that green dot was, just that there was someone there. When this came  
up on the forums some people did suggest that the green dots be  
hidden if you were offline, but that suggestion didn't go down well.
