*Save the Date: Rx Office Hour 2008-05-08*
* "What do I do now?!"
* Next week, the topic of Benjamin Linden's weekly office hour
(Thursdays at 3 PM Pacific in Beaumont) will be the *"What do I do
now?!" problem.
** New residents need to be able to see what's happening right now,
during their first few moments in Second Life, and determine if they're
interested in joining.
* This is a huge problem after you mull it over a bit, and we'd love
your feedback.
* If you cannot attend next week's office hour, please email me directly
or just hit sldev at .

*Landmarks and Navigation Project Update*
* This past week's responses to the wireframes was positive. We received
some great technical feedback.
* There was obvious concern over the five-word limitation on Primary
meta-tags, but we do not believe we're clear on the ability to use
unlimited personal secondary
tags.
* We're currently reviewing how many words the Primary need to be.
* We're still reviewing JIRA for open issues regarding landmarks and
navigation, as well as Second Life-related blogs for opinions on UI,
navigation, organization, landmarks, the Viewer, etc.
* To date, we've talked with over 200 residents and are compiling that data.
* We're also getting support from these residents in agreeing to review
proposed solutions in the future. Thank you!
* We're currently assessing the technical feasibility of adding metadata
to landmarks and other inventory assets; if not we need to create a new
data structure so, in the future, residents can tag friends and clothes,
etc.
* In the wireframes we still need to address where and how to "SHARE"
* We'll have 3-4 completed wireframes (concepts) by the end of this week.
* Vectorform will visit Linden Lab in mid-May to present work completed
thus far, and so we can move on to choosing and building prototypes
before code implementation.
