There's comments that this is a long term goal in the Wiki, and this  
user interface makes it look like that long term goal has suddenly  
become short term. It wouldn't be the first time that priorities had  
a surprising change at LL.

I had to go look to see what you were talking about. I use my  
inventory to manage my gestures.

That's the other side of "separating ... from inventory".

This kind of thing needs to be available for general inventory  
management, it really ought to be a new inventory view, with columns  
depending on the object, able to be restricted to a specific folder  
and maybe even all folders below a certain point, and with columns  
like date acquired, name, creator, type, ... and additional columns  
available when you're filtering the view.

It just seems like they're planning a lot of work here and missing  
most of the potential benefits of that work.
