Well, I would certainly say that it was better than them _not_ having
said anything.
To be honest, though, a promise to release APIs by the end of the year
(which means next year at the earliest) and source after that at some
point (which means 2010) is not all that useful for developers working
with the SL client, I would warrant. I am not a developer working with
the SL client as yet but I would not advise anyone to hold their breath.
Personally speaking I still hold out hope for an XMPP bridge though I
believe that shows my age.
