If the virtual world _requires_ extensions to visit it, I probably
won't be visiting it. Just like I don't bother with web pages that
don't work with most browsers.
What this thread has been about is not something that should require
extensions to the browser, it's a protocol design issue.
Things like the locations of servers for in-game functionality should
be negotiated at login, preferably using an arbitrary key-value list
that can be extended as needed. It doesn't matter, though, whether
it's done by capabilities or in HTTP header variables or in an XML
file, there should not be any locations hard-coded into the client.
