I had a quick look, and I'm missing information on compiling
a 64-bit client. There is a lot of mention of "64 bit", but
it seems that this is for amd64 in fact running as 32-bit
(using 32-bit libraries).

When compiling from source on a 64-bit machine, I'd think that
most people will want to compile it for 64-bit.

At the very least it should be clearly stated that the
instructions for linux amd64 are,
  1) to compile a 32-bit version that runs on 64-bit linux,
  2) it IS possible to compile a natively 64-bit version
(and provide a link to pages that describe that).
