Maybe, but I suspect 90% of active merchants, developers, and creators
are in that remaining 10%.

That would be OK, except that I'd suspect that you'd cut down the
number of calls to support if you didn't default it to anything, but
had a first time dialog asking people if they would like to always
automatically log in like that, or always go through the password
screen, and explain why... and how to back out.
Linden Labs has this tendency to surprise people with small but
significant user interface changes like this, and the cost of guessing
wrong about what people find least surprising can be surprisingly high.
