Hi Matt,
Can you pinpoint when it was that the problems started happening? In
particular, look through this list here:
http://svn.secondlife.com/trac/linden/log/projects/2009/http-texture
...and then try downloading an earlier corresponding to something
earlier than a fishy looking change here:
https://lists.secondlife.com/pipermail/sldev-commits/2009-May/subject.html#2582
https://lists.secondlife.com/pipermail/sldev-commits/2009-June/subject.html#2728
(look for the mails with "Successful Build for ...")
I'm going to guess that r2324 is the earliest rev worth testing, as
before that we had a lot of OpenJPEG crashes that would probably mask
any problems that you're having now. Just knowing if 2324 doesn't
exhibit this problem would provide us with a lot of information:
http://secondlife.com/developers/opensource/downloads/2009/http-texture/2324/Second_Life_1-23-2-2324_OSS_Setup.exe
Of course, the suggestion to build your own will also be helpful, so
don't let me stop you from doing that. This is just an alternative that
you can try if you can't fully invest in getting a build going.
