YES!!!!

I wrote and maintain a few ebuilds. They all use a cmake macro provided by
portage cmake eclass. Out of curiosity, I tried doing a manual build using
develop.py and it failed miserly. I have read and grok develop.py to make sure
I was passing the right stuff to cmake. Dumping develope.py and using cmake
configure/build would make the life of a linux distro packager a lot easier.
Now to see if viewer_masifest.py can be replace by a simple cmake install. It
took me the better part of a week to shoehorn viwer_manifest.py into an
ebuild.
