[sldev] A "SNOW" project in JIRA?

Hi folks,
One thing that we're grappling with right now is the fact that when we
want to mark something "resolved" in Snowglobe, everyone needs a way to
keep track of if/when something will make it into the main Second Life
viewer. Being "resolved" in Snowglobe is independent of being
"resolved" in the Second Life viewer.
There are several ways of fixing this problem:
1. Treat Snowglobe as a separate project from the "VWR" (Second Life
Viewer) project, creating a "SNOW" project. Have duplicate issues in
each for problem reports that affect both.
PROS: keeps things cleanly separated. Lets us use the "roadmap"
features for SNOW independently of VWR issues
CONS: Busywork of duplicating issues
2. Create a custom field for "Resolved in Snowglobe"
PROS: keeps everything in one tidy place. Less busywork.
CONS: makes it really easy for the people working on Snowglobe to get
confused about what's open/closed in Snowglobe. Query options are limited
3. Create new states for "Resolved in Snowglobe", "Resolved in Second
Life Viewer"
PROS: sounds good on the surface
CONS: combinatorial nightmare. This one is pretty much a non-starter,
but I'm including it here because it seems this is where many folks want
to go when they're first asked.
I've filed the issue here:
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-1118
Please let me know what you think in JIRA.
Thanks
Rob
