subject and thread marking are too much of a pain to get 500+ people
to play right with. give it up. workable solutions for a list of that size are:
1. split it into scads of new lists with new charters.
2. tell people to suck it up, and learn how to use their
email/list-reader client to
make filters.
when people bitch that it takes them 1 minute per message to digest and
decide if its spam. then they have problems digesting other forms of media
as well. it is my suggestion to those people : you are on too many lists,
get off the ones that don't interest you.
