Exactly !
1) We're used to think "opensource server = 3rd party hosting" but
it's not the point here. We could have the source without being
allowed to connect to the main grid.
2) Licence problems. All we need is the ability to compile, read, and
patch the sourcecode. Who said it had to be GPL ? As a first step you
could release the sourcecode with a proprietary custom licence and
release it as GPL... Later. And if some people don't want to patch
non-GPL code... well... they don't, point !
