So where do you store the inventory if not on a specialized asset
server (which is a cluster anyway) ?

On sim server ? aren't they already overloaded ?
And how do you decide and manage where is stored every single prims,
script, texture of your inventory, on a ... central server ? What's
happening when a sim go down/restart (which is probably happening
every single minute) ? how do you balance the load ? And ... just...
where do you simply *store* the inventory data anyway, physically ? On
the sim where the said prims has been created ? i can't imagine the
insane load on Sandbox sim. Will you need to have raid 5 array on
every sim server to prevent the awefull content loss ? (yes, hardware
failure DOES happen and it's also archiotect and coder's job to handle
this case (as well as sysadmin job, of course)).

I don't understand what you mean, sorry. Could you explain please ?
