You might want to add comments, open a new PR, or vote for this one  
to be fixed. My problem isn't quite the same as yours, since I'm only  
blocked for HTTP because of the lack of proxy support.

Since only one other person has bothered to vote for this, I ended up  
just putting up with it. Apparently it's not a "popular request" in  
SL. :p

Since you have a business case for this, you might be able to get  
some kind of DMZ approved.
