The backwards domain names were on the UK academic network JANET. The
Internet Domain Name System never used names like that, and JANET
used all kinds of hacks to try and handle things either way. They
broke down when they ran into the conflict between Computer Science
departments and the "cs" top level domain... should it reverse
"cs.uni.edu" or not?
