For what it's worth, the GeForce 6 was introduced 4 years ago and the
GeForce 7 was introduced 3 years ago. We actually currently support 8
year old hardware (GeForce 2 series), which is very generous for a
current 3d app. Sadly the biggest issue is the myriad of business
machines and notebooks that don't really do 3d acceleration. :(
That said, we're still putting lots of effort into giving users with
these types of hardware the best experience that we can. And like soft
mentioned, WindLight on low graphics settings is supposed to give
similar or faster performance on the same hardware than the pre-WL
client at default settings (which it does on most hardware). Cases
where this isn't true are bugs, so the more data we see in such cases
the easier it would be for us to track down and fix.
