[sldev] Error while running "develope.py" from indra folder

Hello Every one ..,                             . For the same reason i
downloaded the source code of 1.23 and add the libraries and dll of fmod ,
quicktime and also installed the directX Aug 2008 . i also have installed
the Visual Basic Studio C++ 2005. After copy pasting the dll's , when i
tried to run the file "develop.py" , in the indra directory , from the
command line using the command "python develop.py -G VC80" i encounterd the
following error:

E:\linden\indra>python develop.py -G VC80  File
"E:\linden\indra\develop.py", line 52    except OSError, err:
   ^SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Can any one please help me with this PLEASE.........
because i am not even able to get the neccessary output folder done....
PLEASE help...
